Stacy

Stacy grew up riding his family’s milk trucks as they picked up at dairies in Washington and Idaho. He initially joined the U.S. Coast Guard at 17 for four years so he could get his commercial drivers license (CDL) at 21 and drive milk trucks for the family. He decided to make a career out of the military, and retired in Feb 2020 as a Chief Boatswain’s Mate (E-7).

He worked on a dairy before enlisting, and worked on dairies across the country during his free time wherever he was stationed with the Coast Guard.

Stacy enjoyed serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, but is so happy to be farming now!

Virginia

Virginia loves farming because she can be outside and work with animals.

Virginia grew up in rural coastal North Carolina with farming and fishing roots. She was always interested in identifying plants and animal tracks growing up. After earning a Latin degree, she enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard due to her love of the sea.

Although she did not have any dairy experience, she quickly fell in love with cows and the idea of a small dairy farm.

Farmers Forever

We love nothing more than being on the farm working together on a project! (Photo by Brandon Hansen)

We married in 2003, started farm planning in 2008, bought the land in 2010, got calves in 2018, and started selling milk in 2020! We are very excited to finally be full time farmers and sharing wonderful dairy with our neighbors. We would love to see more small dairies come back!
